Play "Beat the Broadcast"- MSC Football Pick'em Contest
Pirate
Pride Sports Broadcasting has begun an online Mid-Southern Conference
Pick'em Contest called "Beat the Broadcast". This is how it
works. Each
week of the 2010 Mid-Southern Conference Football regular season,
Charlestown Pirate Pride Sports Broadcasting will list the three conference
match-ups of the week on the "Make Your Picks" contest webpage, located at
www.CharlestownPiratePride.com/PPSBContest.htm.
Play the contest by picking who you think will win each MSC Football game,
and then guess the final score of any one of those three same games as a
tie-breaker. Submit your picks electronically, including your name and
email address and your done. All email address information will be
kept confidential. No fees, no obligations, just fun! At the end
of the MSC Football regular season, the contest will end and a winner
awarded prizes based on accumulating the most points throughout the contest.
A complete list of rules is available on-line. Just when you thought
the high school football season couldn't get any more exciting. For
more information, log on to
www.CharlestownPiratePride.com and look
for the "Beat the Broadcast" logos.

Pirate JV Soccer is Victorious versus the Pioneers
Pirate Soccer hosted
Providence this past Wednesday at Dutch Reis Field, for a JV showdown.
The Pirates started the contest experimenting with a new lineup, and quickly
paid the price as Providence jumped on us within the first two minutes
scoring the first goal of the game on a run out play the brought our goal
keeper out of the net where he was too easily beaten. After twenty
minutes of play, and the score still 1-0 in favor of Providence, we made the
necessary adjustments to get back into our more familiar formation. Within a
handful of plays, Doug Roskowski was able to get the ball out into
the open field for a beautiful cross in to Brandon Lyons who tapped
the ball into the net for his first goal of the season. Now with the score
tied at 1-1, Charlestown was able to settle into their routine of playing a
more aggressive attacking defense. Before the first half had ended
Roskowski was able to find the net for a goal of his own, taking
Charlestown into the break up 2-1.
