Dear Charlestown Pirate Fans:
It is an honor to serve our school and our
community in the role of athletic director for another year. Last year
was a learning experience, and I appreciate all of your support and patience
as I learned the responsibilities of being an athletic director.
This year we face new opportunities and
challenges in our athletic program and in our high school. Our
athletic teams will now compete at the class 3A level in state tournament
play in football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball. Our
athletes need to be bigger, faster, stronger, and more skilled to compete at
the 3A level. Competition on the playing field becomes more physical
and plays happen at a quicker speed. Our athletes and coaches have
been working extremely hard in the off season to raise our level of play and
our fans should expect to see a difference in how the games are played and
officiated.
Our community is in the early stages of building
a new high school. I encourage all of you to stay involved in the
building process all the way to completion. Studies have been
performed, recommendations have been made, and detailed plans will shortly
be finalized. Let your voice be heard and let us have a high school
building and athletic facilities that reflects the pride of this community.
I wish to thank the Pirate Pride Booster Club,
local businesses, parents, students, and all fans that support our athletes
and our teams. There are a number of ways you have showed your support
over the years and our athletes, coaches, and administration cannot express
enough our gratitude for all you do. You continue to show your support
with class, dignity, and a caring heart. I feel fortunate to be a part
of a community with a passion for the well being of their kids and a pride
in their schools.
The next 12 months will present opportunities
and challenges that will define our community, our schools, and our athletic
programs for many years to come. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD - in the
stands in support of our teams, and in the community in the process of
building our new high school.
With Pirate Pride,

David Null, Athletic
