Merschbrock named to Baseball
All-State Team
Senior Pirate Slugger
Clayton Merschbrock was named Sunday evening to the Indiana All-State
Honorable Mention team for Indiana Class 3A Baseball. Clayton joins
the Baseball
ranks of Pirate standouts Wayne Campbell, Jim Couch, Jeff
Goodwin, & B.J. Steele with this accomplishment. Congratulations to
Clayton and thanks for your dedication and accomplishments representing
Charlestown Pirates!

Seniors Honored After Conference Win.
Pirate Senior's Clayton Merschbrock and Travis Brown
were honored by Coach Romans, the coaching staff, team and pirate faithful;
after their final home game.
The Pirates turned the tables on the visiting Musketeers late in the sixth
inning for a 4-3 advantage .......

Season Outlook: After completing
our third straight winning season and our first 20 win season, we enter the
2008 season with some question marks. Offensively, returning 7
starters, we should be pretty good again after hitting .360 as a team last
year; but we have very little experience returning to the mound. We
have big shoes to fill with the loss of 4-year starter Bruce Oldham and
South All-Star LHP Chris Brady. As we always tell our kids, it's a
chance of some guys to step up. If that can happen, we will have a
chance to competitive once again. |
