Pirate Parents Encouraging School Board Members' Approval of 1:1 Computing Initiative Funding:

Charlestown Pirate Pride is requesting all Pirate Parents of Charlestown school students to encourage Greater Clark County School Board Members to approve upcoming funding proposals concerning the One to One Computing Initiative.

The One to One Computing Initiative is a project to support student learning in a technology-enriched environment with a firm commitment to laying the foundation of 21st century skills.  Charlestown, in conjunction with the construction of a new high school campus, is striving to use the One to One Computing Initiative as a catalyst for creating a student curriculum that focuses around preparing our kids for careers in the high-demand, technology-driven fields of tomorrow.

Laying the foundation and changing the current student curriculum includes providing laptops to students from grades 6th through 12th, networking the community through its students, and utilizing world-wide web resources within daily studies and course projects.
