07/22/08:
Merschbrocks & Coach Smith Participate
in All-Star Game
The East-West
Class 3A All-Star game was recently played in New Castle, Indiana.
The East Squad featured 2007-08 season Senior Pirates Zach and Clayton
Merschbrock; as well as, Charlestown's own Head Coach Sean Smith serving as
East Squad Assistant Coach under Fort Wayne Harding's Coach Al Gooden.
Zach Merschbrock led scoring for the East squad with 17 points while Clayton
Merschbrock contributed 14 points in an unfortunate losing cause for the
East Squad All-Stars, 81-72. Congratulations to all three for their
selections and proud representation of Pirate Nation.

Youth Camps, June
2nd - 6th, 2008, in Dunn Arena, grades Kindergarten through 5th and 6th
through 9th. If interested, click the following link to print the
brochure/registration form. New May 31st: The camp cost has been
reduced to
$35 and $30 a piece if they have 2 or more from the same household. Special
thanks to Mark Rose and Rose Seeding and Sodding, Inc. for coming on as the
sponsor of this year’s basketball camp.

04/02/08:
 Pirate Basketball Senior Zach
Merschbrock has been
selected to participate in the Top 60 workout on April 13th, 2008 at Marian
College. The Top 60 workout is a tryout for the Indiana All-Star team,
whereas the Top 60 seniors in the state are selected to participate.
Coach Smith commented that "it (the selection) is a great accomplishment for
Zach and his teammates...Our program is proud of him."
In addition,
Zach has been selected to the Courier-Journal All-Area Team and by the Associated Press as Honorable Mention All-State;
while also being selected with teammates Clayton Merschbrock, and Bowman
Thrasher as Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
