September 3, 2008 at Hidden Creek Par 35

1^st – Henryville- 204 (Katie Spellman-47, Carissa Embry-48, Katie Cleveland-48, Sara Henson-61).

2^nd- Charlestown- 206 (Ashleigh Bowyer-46-medalist, Megan Bowyer-52, Amanda Kasey-54, Katie Shaw-54, & Whitney Greene-61).

3^rd- Borden-(NS)-(Brittney Newton-50, Stephanie Metcalfe- 61, Hayley McKinley-67, Brittney Koch-DNF)

Comments:  "This was disappointing after shooting low 190’s the day before on the same course.  We have to keep the ball out of the hazards and play smart golf to score well.  We will continue to work hard to get better." - Coach Doug Wacker.

September 2, 2008 at Hidden Creek Par 35

1^st -Charlestown- 192 (Ashleigh Bowyer-45-Medalist,  Megan Bowyer-48, Katie Shaw-49, Amanda Kasey-50, Ashleigh Hoff- 62, Sarah Trotter-70) Exhibition play: Cecilia Jennings-46, & Rajchel Foster- 59.

2^nd – Jeffersonville- 205 (Erika Shepherd-49, Amber Pangburn-49, Amber Collins-53, Rachel Clemons-54, Arika Newcom-67).

Comments-  It was great to have three players in the 40’s. The girls have put in a lot of work on the range and it is showing.  I’m pleased with their play and ball striking.  They have great attitudes and a willingness to work to get better.  We are looking forward to some great scores. - Coach Doug Wacker.

Comments:  We obviously did not play our best today against very good competition.  We are hitting the ball fairly well but need to be a little tougher mentally.  Golf really is a physical and mental game.  We expect to play better against CAI on Friday - Coach Doug Wacker.

August 20, 2008:  at Hidden Creek Golf Course, Silver Creek (par 35)

1st- Charlestown - 191 (Megan Bowyer-42, Ashleigh Bowyer-43, Whitney Greene-52, Amanda Kasey-54, Cecilia Jennings-57, Katie Shaw-60)  Exhibition play: Rachel Jones-64, Sarah Trotter- 63, Ashliegh Hoff-Incomplete.

2nd- Silver Creek- 195 (Makenzie Moore-44, Bailey Wilson-44, Gabrielle Archer-51, Kam Salings-56, Janelle Tonnies- 56, Kimi Fluhr-60)

3rd- Borden-No Score-(Brittney Newton-52, Nikki Potts- 54, Stephanie Metcalf-66).

Comments: "We really played well today.  It was nice after coming in third to them to come out and shoot a good score; our best of the year, and earn a victory.  Silver Creek is a really strong club and our matches the rest of the year will be fun.  I am really proud of our effort."  Coach Doug Wacker.

Comments:  "We obviously just needed one more shot to go our way today to get a victory against two quality clubs.  we have another shot at Silver Creek tomorrow, I think we will improve and hopefully be one shot better", Coach Doug Wacker.

August 13, 2008 at Wooded View Golf Course, Clarksville:

1st - Clarksville 227, 2nd - Charlestown 229.

Clarksville - 227 - Alyssa Garcia (51 - Medalist), Alex Conklin (58), Jessica Garcia (58), Taylor Carta (60), Michelle Hamsley (65), & Kelsey Becker (65).

"We did not play our best golf today.  It was not for lack of effort, maybe too many distractions with the first day of school, but it was the first day of school for both teams.  Hats off to Clarksville.  I hope we can get better and compete with them in the conference in September." Coach Doug Wacker.

August 11, 2008 at Hidden Creek Golf Course, Sellersburg:

1st - Charlestown 195, 2nd - Scottsburg - 215, 3rd - Jeffersonville - 237.

Pirate Scores: Ashleigh Bowyer (45 - Medalist), Megan Bowyer (47), Katie Shaw (51), Amanda Kasey (52), & Cecilia Jennings (55).  Sarah Trotter shot a 65 and Ashley Hoff a 70 in exhibition play.

2nd- Scottsburg- 215- Lily Robinson-51, Patricia Bacala-53, Amanda Munden-55, Cari Mosier-56, Meghan Sandlin-57.

3rd- Jeffersonville- 237- Amber Pangburn-58, Rachel Clemons-59, Erica Newcom-59, Nicole Wilson-61, Amber Collins-63.

"The Lady Pirates played very solid golf today.  Our putting improved quite a bit.  We took too many penalties on the course but overall it was a very solid team effort.  I'm pleased with our 5-1 start to the young season.  We just want to keep improving." commented Coach Doug Wacker.

2nd- Charlestown- 219 (Ashleigh Bowyer- 47, Megan Bowyer-48, Amanda Kasey-62, Cecilia Jennings- 62, Katie Shaw- 64)

3rd- Scottsburg-  236 (Lily Robertson-58, Amanda Mundjin- 59, Patricia Robertson-59, Kari Mosier- 60, Shelby Colglazier- 62)

Coaches Comments:  "Salem played really well today.  We need to cut down on the number of putts per round.  We have been solid from tee to green but then we can't finish.  All in all another solid effort, in particular the Bowyer sisters." 

August 4, 2008 at Champions Pointe, Henryville:

1st - Charlestown 225, 2nd - Henryville - 245, 3rd - Madison - 251.
