ready to play and serious about finishing their season strong while winning
nine of their last twelve contests to finish 10-7 on the season.
Results versus Corydon are as follows:
In #1 Singles - Holly Duggins (CT) d. Heather Uhl (CC) 6-2, 6-4; in
#2 Singles - Sabine Higazy (CT) d. Charity Martin (CC) 6-1, 6-3; and

Bridget Kelly/Jodi Elser (CC) 6-0, 6-0. “The girls played really well
today, getting a conference win to close out the regular season. Senior
Holly Duggins played a huge match, beating an opponent who had beat her
in their previous two match-ups. Sarah Embry battled through three
sets after missing the match yesterday due to illness. Doubles swept their
matches for the first time in a while” commented a very proud Coach Chris
Ryan after the win! Great job Lady Pirates!

Lady Pirate Tennis Defeats Madison Shawe, 3-2
The Lady Pirate Tennis team hosted Madison Shawe Thursday
night, looking to continue their recent winning ways, now victorious in 5 of
their past 6 contests, by dispatching the visitors 3-2. Despite losing efforts in doubles play, the singles carried the Lady
Pirates to victory with a sweep. In #1 Singles -
Holly Duggins (C) d. Liz
Grote (S) 6-0, 6-1; in #2 Singles - Sabine Higazy (C) d. Taylor Grote
(S) 6-2, 6-2; and in #3 Singles - Sarah Embry (C) d. Balley Davis (S)
6-2, 6-0. #1 Doubles - Taylor Davis/Chloe Storm (S) d. Emily
Shaw/Chelsea Dean (C) 5-7, 6-2, 6-1; and #2 Doubles - Kimi
Schafer/Caitlyn Kelly (S) d. Haley Trinkle/Bailey Masingo (C) 6-4,
6-4. "Doubles were disappointing today. Both doubles teams played well
below their abilities, physically and strategically. Luckily, the girls at
singles were able to play well enough to secure three points. Doubles had
been a strength of ours earlier in the year, but it's taken singles to bail
them out several matches lately. We have four matches next week and will
have to be better", commented Coach Ryan at the conclusion of the match.

evening for the Lady Pirates. In #1

Duggins (C) d. Shawnee Bayes (A) 3-6, 6-3, 2-1(retired); #2 Singles -
Sabine Higazy (C) d. Adrien Ziemba (A) 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; and in #3 Singles
- Sarah Embry (C) d. Kelly Hollan (A) 6-1, 6-1. In #1 Doubles -

6-1 while in #2 Doubles - Kamry Howard/Kourtney Mace (A) d. Bailey
Masingo/Haley Trinkle (C) 6-1, 6-4. "This was a huge conference
win, and a surprise to what started off to look like a bad day of tennis for
us", commented Coach Ryan. "Holly, Sabine, and both doubles teams were
defeated easily in their first sets. Holly and Sabine deserve a lot of
credit for turning their matches around. Sabine was able to close out
her match in the third set, evening the team score at 2-2. Holly was
then able to push into the third set and take the early lead, where Bayes
unfortunately was forced to retire. Sarah Embry continues to play well
at #3 singles", concluded a very satisfied Coach Ryan.

Lady Pirates Trounce CAI, 5-0
The Lady Pirate Tennis team was able to take advantage
of a break in the weather this week to spar with the Ladies from the
Christian Academy of Indiana. The Lady Pirates had no problem with
scoring victories, to finish with the win 5 games to null.
In #1
Singles - Sabine Higazy (CT) d. Rachel Jones (CAI) 4-6, 6-1, 10-4; #2
Singles - Sarah Trotter (CT) d. Courtney Heishman (CAI) 6-1, 6-4; and
#3 Singles - Mary Hoff (CT) got a default win. IN #1 Doubles -
Bailey Masingo / Sarah Embry (CT) d. Katie Myers/Kristie Meredith (CAI)
6-2, 6-2; and in #2 Doubles - Erica Broady / Marissa Knoeble (CT)
also got a default win. After the win Coach Ryan commented: "Sarah
Trotter really had a nice day playing a difficult style of tennis.
Sarah was forced to approach the net due to Courtney Heishman's dropshots,
and Sarah was able to mix up putting balls away, hitting drop shots back,
and putting balls in the deep corner. Sabine, Sarah Embry and Bailey also
did a good job becoming more aggressive as their matches went on, after
starting off a little slow. CAI will be a surprising team next year, when
Coach Shockey is able to fill all five positions."
