Pirates Bring Plenty of Offense to Handle the Host Cubs 45 - 13

Charlestown Pirate Football opened its 2008 season with an offensively charged pounding of the Class 4A Madison Cubs, 45 - 13.  The Cub defense could not stop the constant ground pounding Pirate running game behind strong performances from Cameron Metzger, Josh Granham, Damon Vest and Mike Blackford.  Defensively Madison was able to capitalize on a few drives, but was limited due to strong defensive performances by Corey Houser and Eddie Duran.  The game also marked the beginning of Pirate Pride Sports Broadcasting, as the game was featured on-line via live streaming audio at www.CharlestownPiratePride.com/Broadcasting.htm.  The Pirates begin conference play this Friday night at home versus MSC rival Brownstown.
